3 ways to de-stress at home during caronavirus panic

This past week has been emotional, fear-based, new, overwhelming, confusing, eye-opening, and in some unexpected ways, connecting and enlightening.

While it certainly is difficult to be "forced" to make life changes and isolate, and I am not going to sugar coat it, but when was the last time you were encouraged to slow down, to stay home, to take care of your mind and body, and to put your and others health first? I know this "new" way of life brings change, and inevitably layers of stress, so I wanted to share my go-to stress-relieving rituals to do while at home.

Sending you love!

3 ways to de-stress and shift the mindset while at home

meditation mantra's

Meditate with a Mantra.

When we are in a state of stress, our minds can be flooded with thoughts that feel impossible to slow down. When this happens, close your eyes, take deep breathes and choose a mantra to say with each inhale and exhale. Do this until your breathing is steady and you feel more calm.

Mantra Suggestions:

  • Inhale Love, Exhale Light
  • Inhale Calm, Exhale Peace
  • Inhale Here, Exhale Now

Lather yourself with aromatherapy essential oils.

Aromatherapy works naturally by entering your nasal passages and calming your senses and it also works topically through your skin, calming you on a cellular level. My favorites are the highest grade essential oils by doTERRA, click here to shop my favorites, including onguard, which boosts immunity. You can also browse the RITUELLE Shop for body oils I love.

How to use Aromatherapy Essential Oils:

  • Add 5-10 drops to your bath and soak it up
  • Rub them on your temples and wrists *make sure there is a carrier oil added to your essential oil, or apply coconut oil to your skin first.
  • Diffuse it!

Smudge it away.

Lighting sage, incense, or palo santo is not just a "hippy" thing, it actually works. An ancient ritual, the smoke releases negative ions into the air, which are known to increase mood, and it has the added benefit of clearing bacteria. My personal rituals are to burn an incense stick and use it as a time to just "be", I use sage to clear my space, and I use Palo Santo to reset my mind and body.
